GATESVILLE – The Robinson boys cross country team claimed their fourth consecutive district championship, with a 25-point performance that included the top three finishers, while China Spring came out on top in the girls’ race with 38 points.
Quenten Lasseter took the individual boys’ crown by clipping the tape in 16 minutes, 24.3 seconds, with teammates Michael Fuentes taking second in 16:42.2 and Johen Deleon coming in third in 17:04.8.
China Spring toook second with 34 points, led by a fifth-place finish from Seth Davison (17:42.2), and Gatesville was third with 70 points and was paced by Rhett Gore (fourth, 17:39.4).
China Spring’s Gretzel Jimenez claimed the girls’ individual title in 12:41.2, while Gatesville (48) and Connally (75) also earned team berths into the 4A Region III race.
Jordan Brock was the first Lady Hornet to finish, in second place (13:06.1), and Hannah Fraga paced the Lady Cadets by coming in fifth in 13:49.2. China Spring’s Isabella Hudson (third, 13:09.3) and La Vega’s Dakota Smith (fourth, 13:36.6) rounded out the top five.
