Live Oak senior Celia Holmes made it 4-for-4 on cross country state championships.
Holmes won the Class 2A race by a full 35 seconds at the TAPPS State Cross Country Championships on Monday at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, giving the Baylor-bound runner four state cross country titles for her career. Holmes completed the two-mile course in 12:30.7, while St. Joseph’s Lacey Matocha was second at 13:05.7.
Live Oak’s girls finished second in the team race, with 74 points, to Shiner St. Paul (49).
The Live Oak boys, meanwhile, finished fourth, led by Timmy Bierwith’s seventh place individual effort.
