In perhaps their final meeting as district opponents, Waco High’s boys soccer team picked up a 4-1 win over crosstown rival University on Tuesday night at Waco ISD Stadium.
The Lions will move to Class 6A next year, while University will remain in 5A.
Waco High junior Raul Toribio opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game with a blistering free kick that curled inside the right post from 30 yards out. University tied the game four minutes later on a blast from Albert Campbell.
Waco High senior Adolfo Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick early in the second half after an infraction that left the Trojans playing with 10 men the rest of the way.
Waco High took advantage of goals by junior Axel Sanchez and senior Jose Monreal — both on passes from Nate Lopez.
The teams tied in their first meeting earlier this season.
Bosqueville 17, Valley Mills 1
Emilee Wade threw a one-hitter as the Lady Bulldogs rolled over the Lady Eagles in a run-rule.
Alley Willis went 3-for-3 to top Bosqueville at the plate.
