Forward, march.

Je’Juan Forward tossed in 24 points to lead three players in double figures, as the 19th-ranked Connally boys basketball team rolled over their longtime district rival, the La Vega Pirates, 59-30, on Friday night.

La Vega (10-9, 2-2) struggled to score, as the Pirates’ top point producer was Keyshawn Coaster with seven.

In a game against a familiar rival, West picked up a key win to help thrust the Trojans back into the playoff conversation.

Junior guard Gage Reese tickled the nets for 18 points, while Blaine Browder added 15 for the Trojans, now 2-3 in 19-3A competition.

Dayton Bean had 21 for Whitney, which dropped to 12-12 overall and 3-2 in the league.
