Multi-time PRCA world champion Sage Kimzey, riding on the back of a bull named 90 Proof, proved to be buck-proof during action Tuesday night at the All-American ProRodeo Finals at the Extraco Coliseum.
Kimzey, PRCA champ in 2014 and ’15, racked up a score of 84.5 to win the round for the night. Clayton Sellars was second at 82.5 points.
In bareback riding, the best ride belonged to Grant Denny of Minden, Nev., who bucked his way to an 86-point ride. Other winners on the night included Braxton Laughlin (8.3 seconds) in tie-down roping, Tyler Waguespack (4.3 seconds) in steer wrestling, Leon Fountain and Louie Brunson (83 points each) in saddle bronc riding, the duo of Clay Smith and Paul Eaves (4.3 seconds) in team roping and Stevi Hillman (15.86 seconds) in barrel racing. Additionally, Lott’s Levi Burton won the mutton bustin’ competition for the little cowboys.
The rodeo, which features the top 30-ranked cowboys and cowgirls in the All-American series, will continue nightly through Saturday.
