The National Wild Turkey Federation and Women in the Outdoors are hosting an outdoors event for women this weekend in Central Texas.
The group will camp at Granger Lake’s Wilson Fox Park and will attend the classes and workshops at Hilliard Ranch near Davilla, which is located SE of Belton a few miles from the campground. The campsite is reserved for Friday and Saturday nights. Space is limited, but reservations can be made by calling 877-444-6777.
This event is described as similar to TPWD’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman, with classes covering a variety of outdoor skills. Cost is $50 and includes a 1-year membership in the NWTF and a magazine subscription.
Organizers say there will be some recreational time during the weekend event and that participants should plan to swim, kayak, fish, bike and enjoy other outdoor activities.
Members of Waco’s Texas Outdoors Woman Network are invited to attend, and any women interested in joining TOWN are welcome.
