TERRELL — McLennan Community College continued its recent roll, fighting a pesky Southwestern Christian squad for a 72-65 victory, their third straight.
The Highlanders (16-5, 3-2 NTJCAC) led by only one, 66-65, with two minutes remaining but held the Rams scoreless from that point on to pull away for the win.
Catrell Currie scored a team-high 16 points for MCC, which led by as many as 14 in the second half. Quenton Kirby put in 15 points, while Jordan Glynn and Flavio Milam added to the Highlanders’ balanced attack with 14 and 13, respectively.
MCC will look to keep its winning streak going when it hosts Weatherford, which leads the conference with a 5-0 record, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
