HILLSBORO — McLennan Community College jumped out to an early lead and held off every Hill College rally to pick up its first conference win, 70-58, Saturday.
Jordan Glynn, a former La Vega standout, led the Highlanders (14-5, 1-2 NTJCAC) with 21 points, while Catrell Currie and Tray Carmouche added 16 and 10, respectively.
The Highlanders limited the Rebels to six points in the game’s first 10 minutes and built a 10-point lead and held a 34-25 advantage at the break. Hill got as close as 44-43 with 11:05 remaining, but MCC had too much down the stretch.
MCC will look for its second straight conference win Monday night, when it hosts Temple College at 7:30.
