Gavyn Jerome Nero and Simone Brinkley have signed with the Baylor track team.

Nero owns national records in the 1,500 and 3,000 meters in Trinidad and Tobago, where he was named junior sportsman of the year in 2007 and 2008. He’s a four-time gold-medal winner in the 800 and 1,500 meters in the Carifta games.

Brinkley won the 2009 Class 3A state championship in the 400 and 800 meters for Dallas Madison High School. She set the 3A state record in the 800 meters with a time of
