Baylor junior linebacker Joe Pawelek has been named second-team Academic All-America by ESPN The Magazine.

Pawelek, a finance major, is the first Baylor player to be named Academic All-America since punter Daniel Sepulveda was a first-team pick in 2005-06.

Pawelek leads the Big 12 with 11 tackles per game and ranks first nationally among linebackers with six interceptions.
