Baylor junior middle blocker Anna Breyfogle has been named the Big 12’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after a 10-block, 10-kill effort in a 3-0 win over Colorado last week.
It was the first 10-block match of the season for Breyfogle and the fifth of her career. Her presence at the net helped limit the Buffs to a negative .036 hitting percentage. Breyfogle leads the Big 12 and ranks second in the nation with a 1.70 blocks per game average.
Baylor, which received 11 votes in the national top 25 volleyball poll Monday, will take on second-ranked Texas in Austin on Wednesday.
