Breakdown: Baylor coach Scott Drew will go for his 300th career win when the Bears host Alcorn State on Friday night. Drew is 299-191 in 16 seasons as a head coach, including a 279-180 record in 15 seasons at Baylor following a one-year stint at Valparaiso.

The Bears hope to look more like the team that shot a school-record 66.1 percent in a 107-66 season opening win over Central Arkansas than the one that shot 47.2 percent in Monday’s 70-46 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Senior point guard Manu Lecomte has been tremendous so far as he’s shot 60 percent (9-of-15) from 3-point range and is averaging 22.5 points. Forward Nuni Omot is averaging 13.5 points and showed his athleticism by throwing down a memorable dunk against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Forward Terry Maston has come off the bench to average 13 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Alcorn State is off to an 0-3 start but has played a tough schedule that includes LSU, Creighton and Northern Iowa.
