Pierre Jackson’s professional basketball journey has spanned many miles, and now it’s taking him several thousand more.
Jackson has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv, a Euroleague team in Tel Aviv, Israel. Jackson, 25, had an eight-game stint with the Dallas Mavericks last year before succumbing to a hamstring injury and being released in January.
His pro career has been overshadowed by injuries, but it has also seen its share of highlights in the NBA’s developmental league, now known as the G-League. He was a two-time all-star on that level, and set the league’s single-game scoring record with 58 points while playing for the Idaho Stampede.
The 5-11 former Baylor star will join another former Bear on the Maccabi roster – forward Quincy Miller.
Maccabi coach Neven Spahija called Jackson “a wonderful and very exciting player, a great and competitive one who also knows how to make his teammates better players. He’s a great guy and I’m sure our audience in Tel Aviv will fall in love with him.”
