Baylor appeared in midseason form in Friday’s 107-66 season opening win over Central Arkansas as it set school records by shooting 66.1 percent overall and 70.6 percent from 3-point range.

Manu Lecomte nailed six of eight 3-pointers and finished with 22 points while forward Nuni Omot nearly pulled off a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.

Six players scored in double figures as Jo Lual-Acuil collected 17 points, King McClure and freshman Tristan Clark scored 15 apiece, and Terry Maston added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Baylor plays Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday.

The Islanders held on for a 69-68 win over Our Lady of the Lake in their Friday opener as guard Kareem South scored a team-high 16 points.

Elijah Schmidt came up big on the boards with 17 rebounds and collected a pair of blocks. Schmidt helped the Islanders dominate the boards, 48-33, but they shot just 36.1 percent.
