The Baylor women’s basketball team secured a high-profile commitment on Saturday when Legacy Christian Academy guard Alexis Morris announced on Twitter she will to play for the Lady Bears.
Morris, a 5-foot-6 guard, averaged 25 points, 8.4 assists, 8.2 rebounds and 4.7 steals per game last season while leading Legacy, in Beaumont, to a runner-up finish at the 3A TAPPS state tournament.
ESPN.com has Morris ranked as the No. 6 guard in the country.
“I have decided to stay home and play in Texas,” Morris wrote. “...I have decided to further my basketball career at (Baylor) to play for head coach Kim Mulkey.”
