Baylor received a verbal commitment from Houston Lamar’s J.W. Ketchum on Sunday, giving the Bears 13 commitments in the 2015 class.
Ketchum is a 6-1, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback, but he’s expected to play wide receiver or cornerback for Baylor. He’s a four-star recruit by Rivals.com.
“Baylor is a good program and they win a lot, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ ” Ketchum said. “I’ve developed a good relationship with Coach (Kendal) Briles. I think I can play wide receiver or cornerback for Baylor.”
Ketchum has passed for 496 yards and six touchdowns and has rushed for 895 yards and 16 scores for Lamar this season. He has also been recruited by such schools as Alabama, LSU, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
