Baylor University’s Center for Church Music will have its 16th annual Sacred Harp Sing event from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Great Hall of Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary, 1100 S. Third St.
The event will start with doughnuts, coffee and a brief introduction to Sacred Harp singing.
The public is welcome to participate.

BU Symphonic Band
The Baylor University Symphonic Band, a 70-member ensemble of woodwind, brass, and percussion players, will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jones Concert Hall in Baylor’s Glennis McCrary Music Building.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth will present a free SKYWARN severe weather training class Saturday at the McLennan Community College Emergency Services Education Center, 7601 Steinbeck Bend Drive.
The event will include a basic program from 9 a.m. to noon, with an advanced spotter training class to follow from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
The program, open to organized storm spotters and anyone with an interest in severe weather, will cover thunderstorm formation, ingredients and features associated with severe and non-severe storms.
