Baylor made another major recruiting haul by landing six verbal commitments Sunday after a big on-campus recruiting weekend.
The Bears got commitments from Justin Northwest receiver Gavin Holmes, Pennsville (N.J.) Memorial tight end Rob Saulin, Mansfield Lake Ridge linebacker Bryson Jackson, Allen defensive lineman Cole Maxwell, Alpine (Ala.) Winterboro lineman Khalil Keith, and Southlake Carroll offensive lineman Henry Klinge.
“Coach (Matt) Rhule is a very genuine guy and very wise, and he’s a guy I can see myself playing for,” Klinge said. “I really like the atmosphere and the whole feel of the campus and all the coaches. It was great to get to know the recruits, and I’m looking forward to being teammates.”
The Bears’ recruiting haul under Rhule came after landing four commitments last weekend and two more on Wednesday to give them 20 in the 2017 class with national signing day coming up on Feb. 1.
Nineteen of the 20 commitments have come since the Bears played in the Cactus Bowl on Dec. 27.
Holmes is a four-star recruit by Scout.com who finished his senior year with 83 catches for 1,549 yards and 15 touchdowns, and also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. He was recruited by schools like Notre Dame, Arizona State and UCLA.

The 6-3, 204-pound Jackson flipped his commitment from Minnesota to Baylor. He’s a three-star recruit by Rivals.com who finished with 83 tackles and seven sacks in 11 games for Mansfield Lake Ridge.
The 6-6, 250-pound Saulin had previously committed to Temple where Rhule coached before taking over at Baylor in early December. Saulin, a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, made 20 catches for 203 yards and two touchdowns and made 84 tackles and two sacks as a defensive end for Pennsville Memorial.
The 6-5, 280-pound Klinge was a key offensive lineman for a powerful Southlake Carroll program. The three-star recruit by Rivals.com had offers from Houston and Virginia. The 6-5, 260-pound Maxwell had offers from Tulsa, UTSA and Connecticut.
