Baylor football picked up its ninth commitment for the 2016 signing class, as Daingerfield receiver Denzel Mims pledged to the Bears.
Mims (6-3, 175) attended a satellite Baylor camp in Marshall, Texas, on Saturday. That was enough to sell the athletic flanker on the Bears, as he made his commitment official Sunday. Mims, a two-star prospect on Rivals.com, chose Baylor over offers from Texas Tech, Tulsa, North Texas, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas and Texas State.
Mims won the Class 3A state title in the 200-meter dash last month for Daingerfield. In the football season, he caught 39 passes for 682 yards and six touchdowns at receiver while making 24 tackles, four interceptions and scoring two touchdowns as a defensive back.
