Baylor has landed another scholarship quarterback, as Arizona’s Anu Solomon plans to join the Bears as a graduate transfer, according to multiple reports.
The recruiting website 247Sports first reported the move. Solomon (6-2, 206) has thrown for 6,922 yards and 49 touchdowns against just 16 interceptions in his three seasons at Arizona. In 2014 as a redshirt freshman he threw for 3,793 yards and 28 touchdowns while guiding the Wildcats to the Pac-12 championship game. He led all FBS freshmen in passing yards that season.
Solomon will have one season of eligibility remaining.
He becomes the third scholarship QB on Matt Rhule’s roster, joining incumbent starter Zach Smith and incoming freshman Charlie Brewer of Lake Travis High School.
Solomon is a native of Kalihi, Hawaii, but played his high school ball at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nev.
