Baylor received its fifth verbal commitment in the 2018 class from Miami Booker T. Washington receiver Tyquan Thornton.
The 6-3, 165-pound Thornton is also expected to run for the Baylor track team. He has been clocked at 10.5 seconds in the 100 meters, 21.3 in the 200 meters and 46.97 in the 400 meters.
"I feel that Baylor sees the greatness in me that other coaches seem to not have caught yet,” Thornton told Scout.com. “I love the location of Baylor. Texas has some good weather up there, and I also like Baylor's style of football.”
Thornton joins Southlake Carroll offensive lineman Jackson Kimble, Cedar Hill running back Joshua Fleeks, Bryan offensive lineman Ylijaah Hall and Franklin offensive lineman Casey Phillips in Baylor’s 2018 class.
