The 13th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team rallied for a big 4-3 win over No. 21 UCLA on Saturday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
Baylor (10-2) twice trailed in the match, after UCLA claimed the doubles point and after the first singles match. But the Bears kept fighting back. Baylor took a 3-2 lead, then UCLA tied the match when No. 2-ranked Ena Shibahara dealt No. 14-ranked Blair Shankle her first loss of the season, 7-5, 7-6, at No. 1 singles.
Yet BU sophomore Elizabeth Profit came through, defeating UCLA's Terri Fleming in a thriller, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, for the clincher.
Baylor travels to Tulsa on Monday.
