Baylor’s volleyball team will gun for its seventh win in the past eight matches when it hosts TCU at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bears (18-5 overall, 8-2 Big 12) are shooting for a season sweep of the Frogs (10-11, 2-7), which would be their first over TCU since 2012. Baylor freshman Yossiana Pressley is playing some of her best volleyball of the season entering the match, and won the Big 12’s Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week awards on Monday. Pressley was the first Big 12 player to sweep those two awards since August 2012.
TCU’s leader in kills per set and total attacks is also a freshman, Allye Beth Deaton, a former two-time Super Centex Player of the Year at Midway. Deaton has 198 kills in 66 sets, averaging three kills per set.
The game will be part of FCA Night, where select student-athletes will share their testimonies. The first 250 fans through the doors will receive a free Baylor tumbler.
