Baylor’s volleyball team dealt up some service with a smile, recording a season-high nine aces in a sweep of West Virginia, 25-20, 25-18, 25-12, on Saturday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.
The victory was Baylor’s 10th in its last 11 meetings, and third-year head coach Ryan McGuyre improved to 5-0 all-time against West Virginia.
Aniah Philo registered a team-best nine kills to go with 13 digs for Baylor (15-4 overall, 5-1 Big 12). Shelly Fanning had six kills, and surpassed the 500-kill milestone for her career.
Jana Brusek picked up 14 digs, and Hannah Lockin distributed 32 assists.
West Virginia (12-6, 1-4) made 22 attacking errors and finished with a negative .011 hitting percentage.
Baylor will have an open date on Wednesday, then return to action on Saturday at Kansas State.
