Baylor’s track and field program announced the addition of Jeff Chakouian as an assistant coach on Wednesday.
Chakouian’s addition fills the vacancy left over by the retirement of Danny Brabham, who walked away last month after a 44-year coaching career, including the past 28 years at Baylor.
Chakouian (pronounced cha-coy-en) comes to Baylor from UCF, where he worked for the past eight years. He’ll primarily work with Baylor’s throwers and multi-event performers. At UCF, he oversaw the field event athletes and was the recruiting coordinator.
“My family and I can’t wait to get to Waco and become part of the community,” Chakouian said.
Chakouian was a six-time All-American as a shot putter at Kentucky. He and his wife, Samantha, have two daughters – Mackenzie and Leota.
