The Baylor football team’s first game in McLane Stadium has been working wonders for the Waco economy, with local hotels, restaurants and memorabilia shops reporting that fan interest began months ago and spending likely won’t wane until Sunday’s kickoff or later.

McLane Stadium made its debut before a crowd of about 17,500 on an idyllic summer evening with fireworks, anthemic music, prophecies of football glory and roars of approval.
