Scouting report: The Lady Bears are the lowest seed at the World Series after stunning No. 2 Arizona with Shelby McGlaun’s three-run homer in the seventh inning in the third game of the Super Regional. Shelby Friudenberg is carrying a hot bat with homers in the Waco regional and the Super Regional. Lindsey Cargill leads the Lady Bears with a .430 batting average but struggled with just one hit in three games against Arizona. Kyla Walker has been on fire to raise her batting average to .422. Baylor has a solid 1-2 pitching punch with Kelsee Selman (24-8) and Gia Rodoni (18-3).

No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners

Coach: Patty Gasso (1,141-322-2 in 23 seasons)

Record: 56-9

World Series appearances: 11 (Won national titles in 2000, 2013, 2016)

Super Regional: Swept two games at No. 7 Auburn

Scouting report: The Sooners will try to defend their 2016 national title behind a deep pitching staff that includes left-handers Paige Parker (23-5) and Paige Lowary (15-3) and right-hander Mariah Lopez (17-1). Freshman Nicole Mendes is hitting a team-high .438 with five homers and 21 stolen bases. Three Sooners have hit double-digit homers with Nicole Pendley blasting 16, Sydney Romero 11 and Shay Knighten 10.

No. 3 Oregon Ducks

Super Regional: Swept No. 14 Kentucky in two games in Eugene

Scouting report: The Ducks feature three dominant pitchers in Megan Kleist (20-3), Maggie Balint (21-3)and Miranda Elish (11-0) who have combined for a 1.33 ERA. Oregon’s offense features a lot of speed as Alexis Mack is hitting .417 with 27 stolen bases and Danica Mercado is hitting .382 with 25 steals. Power comes from Nikki Udria who is hitting .396 with 10 homers and 51 RBIs and Swen Svekis who is hitting .318 with nine homers and 40 RBIs.

No. 6 Washington Huskies

Coach: Heather Tarr (491-208-1 in 12 seasons)

World Series appearances: 12 (Won 2009 national title)

Super Regional: Won 2 of 3 games against No. 11 Utah in Seattle

Scouting report: Washington finished third in the strong Pac-12 with a 17-8 record behind Arizona and Oregon. The Huskies have relied heavily on ace Taran Alvelo who is 33-7 with a 2.05 ERA. While Alvelo leads the Pac-12 in wins, Morganne Flores tops the league with 73 RBIs and Taylor Van Zee is tied for the conference lead with 17 doubles. Ali Aguilar leads the Huskies with 60 runs.

No. 1 Florida Gators

Coach: Tim Walton (663-136 in 12 seasons at Florida; 786-200 in 15 seasons overall)

Record: 55-8

World Series appearances: 8 (won national titles in 2014 and 2015)

Super Regional: Won 2 of 3 games against No. 16 Alabama in Gainesville

Scouting report: The top-ranked Gators feature two of the best pitchers in the country in Kelly Barnhill with a 24-3 record and an 0.36 ERA and Delanie Gourley with a 21-4 record and an 0.67 ERA. They’re both big strikeout pitchers as Barnhill has collected 333 in 173.2 innings and Gourley has amassed 225 in 155.2 innings. Amanda Lorenz is the team’s top hitter with a .390 batting average with 11 homers and 41 RBIs. Kayli Kvistad is hitting .387 with seven homers and 47 RBIs.

No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies

Coach: Jo Evans (836-394-2 in 21 seasons at A&M; 1,148-604-2 in 32 seasons overall)

Scouting report: The Aggies bring considerable power to the World Series as Riley Sartain is hitting a team-high .354 with 12 homers and 48 RBIs, Tori Vidales is hitting .305 with 17 homers and 46 RBIs, and Kristen Cuyos is hitting .280 with 11 homers and 42 RBIs. Keeli Milligan is a threat on the basepaths with 22 steals. The pitching staff is balanced with Samantha Show compiling a 19-7 record, Trinity Harrington going 14-2 and Lexi Smith at 12-1.

No. 13 LSU Tigers

Scouting report: The Tigers were a long shot to reach the World Series as they overcame No. 4 Florida State in three games in the Super Regional. Pitching is the Tigers’ strength as Allie Walljasper is 17-5 with a 1.37 ERA, Carley Hoover is 15-7 with a 1.11 ERA and Sydney Smith is 12-7 with a 2.08 ERA. LSU has hit just 35 homers but Sydney Springfield has supplied some power with 10 homers and 41 RBIs and Jaquish Sahvanna has hit nine homers with 60 RBIs.

No. 5 UCLA

Coach: Kylee Inouye-Perez (485-157-1 in 11 seasons)

Scouting report: Rachel Garcia has been the workhorse of the pitching staff as she’s gone 22-7 with a 1.92 ERA. But the Bruins have depth with Selina Ta’amilo going 14-0 with a 2.79 ERA and Johanna Grauer going 11-4 with a 2.88 ERA. UCLA brings a lot of power to the plate as Delaney Spaulding and Brianna Tautalafua have crushed 16 homers apiece and Madeline Jelenicki has hit 15. Kylee Perez is hitting a team-high .406.
