LONG BEACH, Calif. — Goose McGlaun blasted a two-run homer and a run-scoring double as the No. 12 Baylor softball team rolled to a 5-2 win over No. 21 Long Beach State on Tuesday afternoon.

McGlaun’s bat helped Gia Rodoni (7-2) win a complete-game performance as she scattered four hits and two walks as the Lady Bears improved to 12-3.

McGlaun hit her run-scoring double in the first inning before Long Beach (16-5) scored solo runs in the first and second innings.

But the Lady Bears answered with a three-run third inning as Shelby Friudenberg drilled a run-scoring double and McGlaun pounded a two-run homer over the left-field fence to open up a 4-2 lead. Friudenberg followed with a run-scoring single in the fourth inning.

The Lady Bears will continue their 10-day, 11-game road trip against Liberty at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Liberty Spring Classic in Lynchburg, Va.
