BEAUMONT — Shelby Friudenberg slugged her seventh homer of the season as the No. 13 Baylor softball team rolled to a 4-1 win over Lamar on Tuesday afternoon.
Friudenberg blasted her solo homer in the fourth inning to give the Lady Bears (37-9) a 2-1 lead after Maddison Kettler hit a run-scoring single in the second inning. Baylor added its last two runs in the sixth as Caitlin Charlton hit a run-scoring single.
Gia Rodoni (13-1) got the win after allowing four hits, three walks and a run in the first four innings. Kelsee Selman allowed two hits in the final three innings to notch the save.
The win over Lamar (23-24) was Baylor's last nonconference game. Baylor will return to Big 12 play with a three-game series against Oklahoma State Friday through Sunday at Getterman Stadium.
