Baylor’s soccer squad welcomed an 11-member signing class Wednesday, as the program looked to increase its depth for the 2015 season.
That group actually adds to a class that already included two November signees who enrolled in January: forward Amanda Hoglund of Spring Grove, Ill., and forward Ashanti Carey of Bridgeton, Mo.
That means Baylor will field a 31-player roster next year after featuring only 23 players this past season.
In all, it’s a group that Baylor head coach Paul Jobson described as “one of the most complete classes we’ve ever brought in.”
Five Texans will join BU’s ranks as part of the newcomers. They include McKinney defender Kylie Ross, Amarillo Randall forward Lauren Piercy, Flower Mound forward Ariel Leach, Coppell midfielder Sarah King and Kingwood midfielder Kennedy Brown.
Baylor’s out-of-state signees are comprised of goalkeeper Hannah Parrish of Naperville, Ill., defender Megan Klostolansky of Glen Ellyn, Ill., goalkeeper Rebecca Gartner of Danbury, Conn., defender Haley Foster of Highlands Ranch, Colo., forward Jackie Crowther of Temecula, Calif., and defender Cierra Bryant of Overland Park, Kan. Gartner is a transfer from the University of Central Florida who sat out all of 2014 and will be a redshirt freshman for Baylor in the fall.
