DALLAS — Camryn Wendlandt, Raegan Padgett and Lauren Piercy scored their first goals of the season as the Baylor soccer team completed nonconference play with a 4-1 win over SMU late Sunday night.
SMU's Vanessa Valadez scored the first goal eight minutes into the game before Wendlandt tied it at 1-1 on a header after an assist by Jackie Crowther.
Padgett scored the go-ahead goal 26 minutes into the game. Piercy scored with 11 minutes left in the game before Aline De Lima completed Baylor's scoring with a goal less than a minute later.
Baylor improved to 6-1-1 heading into the Big 12 opener at 7 p.m. Friday against No. 6 West Virginia at Betty Lou Mays Field. SMU fell to 4-2-2 for the season.
