Aline De Lima and Halee Sowinski scored goals as the Baylor soccer team closed its exhibition season with a 2-0 win over Abilene Christian on Friday night at Betty Lou Mays Field.

De Lima scored Baylor’s first goal in the opening 10 minutes of the second half as she hit a free kick from 20 yards out. Sowinski scored a few minutes later after she was set up by a scrum of Baylor players.

“The main takeaway was that I wish we had started the first half the same way we started the second half,” said Baylor coach Paul Jobson. “Some of that can be nerves, some of that can be trying to get in that routine of how do we get ready for games. The second half, we just took the game.”

Goal keeper Hannah Parrish recorded her second shutout after Baylor knocked off Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 2-0, in last Sunday’s opening exhibition match.

Baylor will open the regular season against Louisiana-Lafayette at 5 p.m. Friday at Betty Lou Mays Field.
