The Baylor men’s tennis team swept No. 23 SMU, 4-0, on Sunday in ITA Kick-Off play in College Station to clinch a spot in next month’s ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

Fresh off Saturday’s upset of No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 21 Baylor started things off against SMU with a doubles win by Johannes Schretter and Jimmy Bendeck, 6-1 over Markus Kerner and Arkadijs Solobdkins, then another doubles win by Juan Benitez and Constantin Frantzen, 6-2, over Samm Butler and Ronald Slobodchikov.

In singles play, Benitez, Frantzen and Bendeck all won in straight sets, with Benitez taking down Slobodchikov, 6-3, 5-2 in the No. 1 spot.

The ITA National Team Indoor Championships are Feb. 17-20 in Charlottesville, Va.
