LAREDO, Texas — Baylor men’s golf repeated as Border Olympics champion after carding a 9-under-par 279 final round, concluding the 2016 event with a final score of 20-under-par 556 over 36 holes. The Bears led the 18-team field by eight strokes, fending off Houston, which took second with a final score of 12-under 564.

Four of Baylor’s six competitors finished among the top 10 individuals. Frederik Andersen led the team with a final score of 7-under-par 137, carding a 2-under 70 final round to place him in a tie for second place individually. Andreas Gjesteby, Braden Bailey and Garrett May all tied for eighth individually, sharing a final score of 4-under 140, carding second round scores of 1-under-par 71, 3-under 69 and 1-under 71, respectively.

Hunter Shattuck and Matthew Perrine both tied for 29th place, carding two-round scores of even-par 144, with final round scores of 2-over 74 and 3-under 69, respectively.
