SPRINGTOWN, Texas — The No. 9 Baylor equestrian team snapped a three-meet losing streak and earned its first Big 12 win of the season over No. 7 TCU.

The teams played to a 10-10 draw on Friday but Baylor won the event on raw scores, 1413-1367. The Bears improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 while TCU fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Baylor’s Madison Day and Brittney Mirkov scored in fences but TCU took a 3-2 win. Baylor came back with a 3-2 win in horsemanship as Kaylee Mellott, Elizabeth Forney and Abbi Demel scored.

The Bears also took a 3-2 win in reining as Carly Salter, Georgia Smith and Charlotte Green scored. TCU closed the match with a 3-2 win in flat riding.

Baylor will host Texas in an exhibition meet Nov. 10 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
