SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Amid a field of ranked teams, Baylor’s women’s cross country team finished 10th at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday at Burke Golf Course.
The Baylor men lagged farther behind in their race, coming in 19th.
It marked the second straight top 10 finish at the meet for the BU women, who were fifth last year. The Lady Bears did finish ahead of 12th-ranked Notre Dame, the meet host.
Baylor produced two top-20 individual finishes from junior Lindsey Bradley (16:36.6 – 11th) and sophomore Anna West (16:47.2 – 17th).
In the men’s five-mile race in the blue division, the Bears came in 19th, led by Devin Meyrer in 36th with a time of 24:27.8. BU coach Jon Capron said the Bears had some injuries flare up during the race that hampered their finish.
Baylor will next compete at the Aggieland Open on Oct. 6 in College Station.
