The Baylor women’s cross country team pushed three runners into the top eight to claim the team title at the Bear Twilight Invitational for the ninth straight year Tuesday at the Heart O’ Texas Soccer Complex.
Baylor’s men took second at the season-opening meet.
Junior Maggie Montoya charged to the individual title for the BU women, clocking 13:24.4 in the 4,000-meter race. Baylor’s Peyton Thomas (13:59.7) and Alex Davis (14:21.0) finished fourth and eighth, respectively.
In the men’s 6K race, sophomore Eric Anderson led Baylor with a seventh-place finish and a time of 18:43.2.
Next up for both teams will be a trip to the Ken Garland Invitational Sept. 12 in Denton.
