Baylor sophomore catcher Shea Langeliers has been named to the preseason watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top college baseball player in the country.

It’s just the latest in a series of preseason honors for Langeliers, who has been named a preseason All-American by, Baseball America, Perfect Game/Rawlings and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Langeliers hit .313 last year with 43 runs, 10 home runs, 38 RBIs and 114 total bases.

He and the Bears will open the season with a Feb. 16-18 home series against Purdue.
