Waco Civic Theatre delivers entertainment

The Waco Civic Theatre has just concluded its 61st Anniversary Season with the wonderfully delightful musical, Brigadoon. As a jewel in the crown of Waco, the Civic Theatre continues to bring to the residents of McLennan County professional community theatre performances at reasonable prices. This year many performances sold out, underlying the advantage to a patron having a season ticket so they will not miss a single production.

The 62nd Main Stage Season will open on August 28 at 7:30 pm with the musical Little Shop of Horrors, which will continue August 29 and September 4, 5, 11, 12 at 7:30 pm and August 30 and September 6 and 12 at 2:30 pm.

Next WCT will present The Woman in Black October 23, 24, 30, 31 at 7:30 pm and 25 and November 1 at 2:30 pm followed by Neil Simon’s The Sunshine Boys December 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm and 13, 20 at 2:30 pm

The second half of the season will open with The Diary of Anne Frank, the new adaptation with new writings from Anne’s diary February 5, 6, 12, 13 at 7:30 pm and 7, 14 at 2:30 pm This will be followed by the comedy Love, Sex, and the IRS March 26, 27 and April 2, 3 at 7:30 pm and March 28 and April 4 at 2:30 pm

The exciting 62nd Season will close with the musical Gypsy May 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 at 7:30 pm and 9, 16, 23 at 2:30 pm. There will be a Special Mother’s Day Performance, May 9.

Season Tickets are now on sale at the Theatre Box Office, 1517 Lake Air Drive, 776-1591. Hours are 10-5 Monday through Friday. Season Tickets make a great gift for yourself or someone dear to you and at a great price...$50.00 for all 6 shows or $8.33 per show. Regular price tickets are $12 and $10 for Seniors/Students for the plays and $15 and $12 for Senior/Students for the musicals.
