Lawn care schedule
• This weekend (March 26-28) is the time to treat with pre-emergent weed control products; it’s a February-March chore. These products attack weed seeds as they sprout and prevent them from developing into full grown weeds. If you have weeds already growing by now, you need to treat for them in the fall during September to November.
• Mow early in the year before the grass begins to green and mow often, even more than once a week. The more frequently you cut the grass, the better the lawn will do in the hot stressful months of summer.
• April and May are the months to begin the main fertilizing.
• In May and June, apply grub prevention products. It’s better to use a prevention product; there are not any good products on the market to kill mature grubs.
