Why are you charging for what used to be free?
News organizations nationally — and locally, here in Waco — are devoting more time and resources to online coverage and, at the same time, making sure the coverage in their print editions remains strong. Newspapers cover the community in a comprehensive and detailed manner because their online and print readers want that type of coverage. Here in Waco that's what we promise for you — detailed coverage you have come to expect. The reality is that it takes money to fund strong and trusted reporting for our readers, and requesting payment for a portion of our digital site matches a subscription model that has been in place for print for decades.
