F irst, we ask every school and daycare center in McLennan County to give us the number of needy children they have who are age 3 to 10. Most schools use their “free and reduced lunch program” participants as the main recipients; sometimes teachers and principals add some names of others whom they feel don’t have books of their own.

Then, with these totals in hand, we ask county residents like you to help by either selecting books at local bookstores or by giving money with which we purchase books at great discounts.
