For more than 50 years, the Waco Tribune-Herald has named its annual Super Centex Football Team to honor the best and brightest Friday night heroes. The honors have expanded over the years to include teams in basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball. In 1987, we named our first male and female Super Centex Athletes of the Year.
