MOODY — Moody’s third win of the season sent a shock wave through District 16-2A.
Nate Wilburn threw two touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores as Moody knocked Crawford out of the playoffs, 27-13, Friday night.
Hamilton (6-4, 5-2), which lost to Crawford (7-3, 4-3) last week, defeated Hico to take the district’s final playoff berth.
After Crawford took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, Moody (3-7, 2-5) scored four unanswered touchdowns.
Justin Smith rushed for 144 yards and a score for Moody.
Chane Lynch threw two TD passes for Crawford.
Hamilton 34, Hico 21
HAMILTON — The Bulldogs got fourth-quarter touchdown runs from Garet Box and Mason Burke to beat the Tigers (5-5, 3-4) and get into the playoffs.
Box had 222 yards and and TD runs of 67, 64 and 23 yards, the last of which put Hamilton ahead for good in the fourth quarter.
Dylan Turner rushed for 93 yards and Corey Needham threw two touchdown passes for Hico (5-5, 3-4).
