The Midway Panthers and Aquilla Cougars earned recognition this week as Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Army Strong Teams of the Week.
Midway demolished then-sixth-ranked Ennis, 56-31, on Friday at Ennis Lion Stadium. That left the Panthers as the only unbeaten team in District 16-4A and helped move them into the No. 10 spot in the AP Class 4A poll this week.
Aquilla edged Kopperl, 38-31, to receive the Army Strong Team of the Week honor in the six-man ranks.
