During this election cycle, we have an opportunity to send a representative to Congress who will represent the conservative values of the people who live here, rather than those of liberals and Washington insiders.
Rob Curnock is a conservative small-business owner with the values and character to find out what we want and to fight for it. In 2008, no one thought he had a chance, and he was the only person who stuck his neck out for us. Let’s nominate Rob Curnock to finish the job.

Much is being said about the upcoming GOP primary race for the 10th Court of Appeals pairing incumbent Felipe Reyna and challenger Al Scoggins. Most of it is being said by outside agitators who seem to be trying to apply the sullied record of a current justice on the court to Reyna.
While those of us in Waco have had to read about the various shenanigans that have occurred in the court over the last few years, not once has Reyna been the source.
Reyna has done what a good judge should do — rule fairly and justly based on the laws of the land. That’s the type of man I want representing my judicial system. Put the tawdry headlines and outside slander aside and cast a vote for an honest, hardworking justice who has the best interest of nothing but the law in mind.

Baker trial was unfair
Matt Baker never could have gotten a fair trial in Waco because of all the unfavorable and accusatory blogging and gossip that went on surrounding the trial. Bumper stickers even added to the unfair atmosphere here.
Considering all this, why did the judge not allow a change of venue?
The state’s star witness, Vanessa Bulls, showed evidence of extreme coaching during her testimony. She gave an Oscar-worthy performance.

Minimal tree cutting
When I received the flier from the city of Waco that my 150-year-old oak trees violated street height requirements, I thought I knew what was coming, especially after reading about the war going on with the Woodway residents and Oncor Electric regarding tree trimmings.
I called the number on the flier, and a kind gentleman named James worked with me and scheduled an appointment with his supervisor and the arborist for the city. In the end, they did minimal cutting to my majestic trees and let me be part of the process. They even left the beautiful tree canopy over our street.
Thank you, James, for representing the city of Waco in such a professional and caring manner. You are a jewel on our city’s payroll.
