EDITORIAL: Time for summer cleaning
With the start of school around the corner, may we say this is an apt time to do a little summer cleaning?
A fire Sunday did significant damage to the Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries East Waco warehouse on Waco Drive, including much of its stock. Officials Monday put out an appeal for help from the community.
Goodwill spokeswoman Shannon Kendrick, who Monday said the organization feared destruction of the merchandise would “be a big blow” to continued services, told us Wednesday that it still seeks any gently used household items, including footwear, kitchen items, furniture and clothes.
Right. This is the time to take a few moments, dig through the closets for items you aren’t using, and do a turn for those less fortunate. In these hard times, that could include your neighbor.
