EDITORIAL: Record your story, Waco
Everyone has a story to tell and someone who wants to hear it.
Thursday, Wacoans will have the opportunity to vie for a chance to record their personal life tales with StoryCorps and KWBU-FM.
The slice-of-Americana recordings will take place in an outfitted Airstream trailer recording studio parked at Waco’s Central Library, 1717 Austin Ave, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 22.
The catch is that interviews are recorded in pairs by folks who are familiar with each other. Veterans, grandmothers, the young and old are all urged to record a 40-minute session, which might get aired on National Public Radio.
Sign-up requests must be made by Thursday through www.storycorps.org or by calling 800-850-4406.
“There are so many stories that people have to share. And the interesting thing about StoryCorps is that this is for everybody and anybody,” KWBU station manager Brodie Bashaw told us.
Get ready to share your stories, Waco.
