EDITORIAL: Jim Sirbasku taught us balance in all things — and on horseback, to boot
If in this weary old world we need reminding of the importance of balance in life, Jim Sirbasku surely represented that balance.
As co-founder of Profiles International, this former butcher spoke to audiences big and small worldwide and offered critical advice to companies on job placement and selection. One of his credos sticks in mind: “Think with your imagination, not your memory.”
Sirbasku also reminded us of the importance of passion in one’s life, not only in business but in pleasure, through his fascination for Egyptian Arabian horses, which he and wife Judy bred successfully at their 140-acre Waco farm.
His death this week at age 70 leaves heartbreak in Waco and around the globe. But his work and example remind us of the need to sit firmly in the saddle of life, to always think past your line of sight and to concentrate on balance in all things.
