EDITORIAL: How to improve I-35
If you think your input does not count, then you should think again.
Central Texas residents have until 5 p.m. Friday to send officials at the Texas Department of Transportation comments regarding a proposed plan to widen Interstate 35 through Waco.
We encourage local residents to take advantage of this commenting period.
Last November, state officials voted to send nearly $1.1 billion in funding to widen I-35 north and south of Waco, in part, because Waco made its case.
The latest proposal to widen I-35 within Waco is expected to cost $317 million — with a funding source that the state has yet to determine.
So enhance Waco’s reputation as an engaged citizenry and let your voices be heard by sending a comment on the proposal to: www.dot.state.tx.us/contact_us/form/?id=wac-ph-email.
